The co-founder of Vine has created a new social media app called Byte, which is now available on both iOS and Android.

A true successor of Vine, Byte allows its users to create and share 6-second looping videos. The users will also be able to browse through content on this platform, which has an absolutely unfussy user interface.
All those interested in getting a feel for Byte before they actually start using the app can walk around the Explore page, which is given below.
The social media app comes equipped with basic social media features like user profiles, a content feed, and an Explore page. The one shortcoming in the app is the users won’t be able to edit videos with filters and other effects like they are able to do in TikTok and Snapchat.
The app allows its users to upload videos directly from their device apart from allowing them to shoot videos with the app itself. This means users can edit the video any number of ways through third party apps before they actually upload it to the app.
Byte is still testing new features and as per the Byte community forum new creation features are on the way.
There is good news for those who are always looking to monetize various social media platforms. Very soon Byte will come up with a partner program under which users will get paid for creating content. This is one reason why users might get lured away from other more established apps like TikTok that doesn’t allow any monetization program for users to earn money directly from videos.
“…very soon, we’ll introduce a pilot version of our partner program which we will use to pay creators. byte celebrates creativity and community, and compensating creators is one important way we can support both. Stay tuned for more info.”
The social media platforms will also offer a community forum to prioritize communication with creators. This is another way Byte distinguishes itself from other platforms.
There is also an Announcements forum where in users can find all the latest information on Byte directly from the developers themselves.
